MPU COMx - Rugged High-Performance Multiprocessor Unit |

The MPU-COMx is an ultra compact
and lightweight addition to the Multi Platform computer
processing units. Based on a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS) MPU-COMx open architecture platform, and durable
sealed aluminum chassis, the MPU- COMx is designed for
seamless processor upgrades and long operational life in
harsh on-the-move environments. Total plug-and-play
modularity in a single unified package sets the MPU-COMx
apart. The conduction cooled sealed chassis can house up
to seven fully independent hot swappable processing
modules—each module hosting the latest Intel or AMD
processors and up to two rugged ultra-compact TP2
removable SATA hard drives.
Optional PCI expansion modules, including PCI Express
with enhanced graphics, allow for easy mission–specific
customization in field deployed situations. The MPU-COMx
provides program leaders the extreme flexibility in
field–deployed computing. The speed and ease with which
application specific configuration changes can occur is
unrivalled. With a single unified chassis, a variety of
easy to swap computer and expansion modules and easily
accessible dual redundant power supplies, the MPU-COMx
provides a cost effective easily upgradeable solution to

Z Microsystems' 2X and 4X Z MPU (Z
Multiple Processor Unit) provides independent
quick-swappable computer modules and supports Intel Xeon
and Intel Dual Core Xeon CPU-based ATX motherboards.
The Z
MPU provides program leaders greater flexibility in
field-deployable computing. The speed with which
application-specific configuration changes can occur
with the Z MPU is unchallenged. With one clean chassis,
easy-to-swap sealed computer modules, and remote system
administration, the Z MPU provides a more upgradeable
and more modular solution to the military's long program
cycles.
The
peripheral bay offers up to five ports for external
devices. Each SCM can be assigned any of the peripheral
devices via Z Microsystems' local or web-accessed system
administrator, delivering a remotely accessed peripheral
switch for a closer command of fielded operations. An
embedded multiprocessor monitors system health and
watch-dog activity.
The Z
MPU's sealed computer modules and disks are
environmentally sealed against sand and dust of hostile
environments, effectively reducing maintenance and
increasing reliability and system life. The 2X and 4X Z
MPUs are designed to meet rigorous EMI test standards
and to exceed industry expectations for combined
portability and durability.

The ZXL2 Station is a
low–profile, rack mountable, computing and graphics
processing powerhouse. At only 3.45” (2U) high by 20
inches deep, this compact, lightweight, rugged
workstation gives back valuable rack space and delivers
an extremely flexible and high–performance solution that
is unbeatable in field–ready applications.
The
ZXL2 Station integrates the latest computing platforms
with up to three rugged hot–pluggable TP7 removeable
drives, a slimline DVD-RW and a slimline floppy.
User–friendly features include a front accessible power
switch, two front accessible USB ports for rapid
connectivity, and a quick release top access cover for
ease of service and hardware installation.
Optimized for rugged conditions,
the ZXL2 hosts innovative PCI card hold–down brackets
that secure cards in all three axis (X/Y/Z). In
addition, filtered sliding front panel doors that will
not interfere with other rack–mounted equipment when
opened repel sand and dust. A robust 550W power supply
has the muscle to support the latest Intel Core2 Duo and
AMD Opteron server boards, as well as high–power (PCI
Express) graphics cards.

The ZXL1 Intel or AMD based server
mounts in an industry standard 1RU low-profile rack
space. The ZXL1 can host two PCI cards and up to three
removable, environmentally protected SATA hard disk
drives. The many user–friendly features also include a
front accessible power switch, two front accessible USB
ports for rapid connectivity, and a slim DVDRW. A quick
release top access cover allows easy service and
hardware installation.
Optimized for harsh conditions, the ZXL1 also has
specialized PCI card hold–downs that secure the PCI
cards in all three axis (X/Y/Z). The front accessible
air filter provides cooling and protects the system from
sand and dust. Internally the modulating fans are also
removable. And of course the removable 550W power supply
will support the latest Intel Core2 Duo and AMD Opteron
server boards, as well as high–power (PCI Express)
graphics cards. To further reduce risk, cost and
failures caused by harsh environmental conditions, the
ZXL1 is designed to exceed MIL-STD 167 for vibration and
MIL-STD 461 for EMI, in hostile, fielded applications. |

Designed specifically
for Naval Surface Combatant applications on the CG-47
and DDG-51 Class Ships, the Z/ITX is a high-speed
computing core alternative to CompactPCI and VME

With full PCI card capacity and
completely open specification, the small, rugged Z/ITX
begins with your choice of the most current mini-ITX
form factor motherboards and allows you to tailor a

With complete front
panel interface, the Z/ITX offers maximum storage
capacity with two rugged removable TranzPak 2 hard
drives and a low-profile CDRW. A 230-watt power supply
powers the system and optimal cooling is provided
through independent side-to-side ventilation.
The Z/ITX provides application
designers access to the latest commercially available
mini-ITX motherboards to help speed up the development
cycle, and provide a platform for the integration of
hardware and software with the most current
commercial-off-the-shelf dual core mobile processors.
The Z/ITX offers
benefits from the specialized mini-ITX form factor CPU
boards, along with instant upgradeability as new boards
come on the market. It is an excellent alternative to
CompactPCI and VME architecture for embedded systems
